Dr. Tanna is a Women's Surgical Heath™ Expert in his field, a respected educator, and a prolific author. He currently serves as Vice President of Women’s Surgical Services at Northwell Health. In 2018, Dr. Tanna was promoted to the rank of Professor of Surgery with the Zucker School of Medicine, making him one of the youngest full professors at Northwell Health. Finally, he is a full investigator with The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research.

Education And Experience Beyond The Ordinary

After completing his medical training in one of the few combined six-year accelerated track medical programs in the country, Dr. Tanna spent an additional eight years training to become a Plastic Surgeon. He completed a full Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery residency at George Washington University. Dr. Tanna then pursued further training and completed a second full residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This was followed by a fellowship in advanced reconstructive and microvascular surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University (NYU).

Board Certification

Dr. Neil Tanna is among a small group of surgeons in the country who is Double Board-Certified in Plastic Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery. To achieve board certification as a plastic surgeon, Dr. Neil Tanna was required to meet the rigorous standards of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The ABPS is the only plastic surgery board approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties. It is the only board which certifies in the full spectrum of plastic surgery of the entire body, including head and neck, trunk and extremities. This is largely due to the level of training required to meet the qualifications for certification.
