Breast Reconstruction

Breast Reconstruction by Neil Tanna, MD

Dr. Neil Tanna has experience in all forms of breast reconstruction. This includes autologous (the woman’s own tissue) or implant-based reconstruction. Women interested in autologous microvascular breast reconstruction are candidates for perforator flaps from their body including DIEP (abdomen), GAP (buttock), PAP (thigh), TUG (thigh), SIEA (abdomen) or TAP (chest wall) flaps. Implant-based breast reconstruction may be performed in two stages (tissue expander & implant) or a single stage (direct-to-implant). The latest techniques such as preventive mastectomy and reconstruction, nipple or areola sparing mastectomy reconstruction, form stable (gummy bear) implant reconstruction, or partial mastectomy reconstruction are also offered.

Dr. Tanna has completed extensive training. This included a specialized fellowship training in microvacular & advanced breast reconstructive surgery. Having completed his training at UCLA and NYU, both high volume breast reconstruction centers, he practices the newest techniques in breast surgery.

Dr. Tanna has a passion to help women with breast cancer. This keen interest combined with his experience in breast surgery has led him to contribute to the field of breast reconstruction. His work has been published in numerous scientific journals. He has traveled around the country and world, presenting his findings and results.
