Surgical Education

Dr. Neil Tanna is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with Northwell Health, the largest healthcare provider in New York. Outside of his busy clinical practice, he is a leader, educator and prolific author. Dr. Tanna also trains the next generation of medical professionals at the visionary Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. The school is built upon the strong clinical and graduate medical education programs of Northwell Health, Hofstra, and the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research.

He serves as a Professor of Surgery at Zucker School of Medicine and Associate Program Director of Plastic Surgery at Northwell Health. In 2018, Dr. Tanna was promoted to the rank of Professor of Plastic Surgery, making him one of the youngest full professors at Northwell Health. This title was granted after rigorous internal and external review of Dr. Tanna’s extraordinary accomplishments. This rank has national significance, as the average full professor in the United States is 55 years old. Dr. Tanna helps embodies Northwell Health mission to deliver high quality care to patients by being the one of the world’s best caregivers and foremost scholars.

Dr. Neil Tanna is passionate about the art and science of Plastic Surgery. Beyond his plastic surgery practice, Dr. Neil Tanna is a noted author and highly respected educator. Through the generous support of grateful patients, corporate sponsors, and others, PSERT promotes research by facilitating clinical and basic science studies. Additionally, PSERT fosters the training of plastic surgeons by supporting the medical education. The research and educational initiatives of PSERT make a significant contribution to the high quality care and outcomes of patients.

Dr. Neil Tanna is grateful for his practice and training. In part, he believes that he is indebted to wonderful mentors. He is committed to giving back to society by making significant contributions to surgical care by volunteering. Dr. Tanna experiences a profound sense of meaning by helping the underserved. He offers reconstructive surgical procedures and treatments to those in need. To support this ongoing global reconstructive surgery effort, Dr. Neil Tanna established the surgical volunteer organization, Helping to Heal.
