Katherine (“Katie”) Beam is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant (PA) with the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Northwell Health. Katie graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Quinnipiac University. She obtained her Master of Health Science Degree from the Physician Assistant program at Lock Haven University. Following this, she completed an additional year of rigorous surgical training as a PA resident at Norwalk Hospital.
Katie shares Dr. Tanna’s passion for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. She works collaboratively with Dr. Tanna in taking care of patients in the office and the operating room. Katie is a tremendous asset to patients, as she is always available as a resource to them. She is readily able to evaluate patients, interpret lab tests, assist in surgery, or counsel patients. Katie, along with Dr. Tanna, will provide great attention to your personal needs to ensure that you are getting the optimal outcome and experience.
Erin May is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) with the division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Northwell Health. Erin received her Masters Degree from Hofstra University’s School of Graduate Nursing. Erin has an extensive clinical nursing background and has worked in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit and post-anesthesia care units at Northwell Health. She is a strong proponent of professional role development and is currently enrolled in the Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) advanced certificate program at Hofstra University. She is also a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
Erin was born and raised on Long Island. Her prior experiences of caring for breast cancer patients during various stages of their reconstruction process is what initially made her interested in joining Dr. Tanna’s team. Dr. Tanna and Erin share the same philosophy in that patient care should be individualized and tailored to fit the entire spectrum of a patient's needs. Erin’s unique combination of experience, knowledge, and personal attention to detail is what enables her to provide exceptional and compassionate patient care to each and every one of her patients.
Brittany Corstange was born and raised in Camden, South Carolina and is Dr. Tanna’s Secretary, Surgical Coordinator, and Project Coordinator. Brittany graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Hospitality/Tourism Management with a minor in Health from The College of Charleston. She has worked in specialty healthcare fields since graduation and enjoys both the administration and clinical aspects of medicine.
Brittany comes to Dr. Tanna from Texas with a wealth of experience in breast reconstruction and aesthetic plastic surgery. She shares Dr. Tanna’s excitement and passion for Plastic Surgery, microsurgery, and advancements in breast reconstruction. She works with him to ensure patients feel connected at all times, assisting them with needs and concerns. Brittany enjoys connecting with all patients before, during, and after their journeys. Her personal attention to each patient and commitment to their needs make her an invaluable asset to the team.
Krystal Lok-Tyska is the Administrative Manager who manages the day-to-day operations of the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Northwell Health. Krystal has been instrumental in creating a professional and warm environment for our staff and patients alike.
Krystal earned her undergraduate degree from Stony Brook University in Health Sciences and graduated from Louisiana State University with a Master’s Degree in Health Administration. Prior to joining the team at Northwell Health, Krystal was a Program Coordinator at Boston Children’s Hospital. Among her many accomplishments while at Boston Children’s, she also received accolades from Press Ganey, the evaluation system for hospital systems throughout the nation.
Krystal has worked in the healthcare field for nearly a decade, providing patients with unparalleled administrative support. Her dedication and passion enables her to implement best practices that are not only excellent but innovative.
Sarah Barnett is the current Northwell Health Surgical Scholar working with Dr. Tanna and the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Northwell Health. Dr. Neil Tanna oversees a premedical, clinical gap year program with the Department of Surgery at Northwell Health. Each year, college graduates taking a gap year, but applying to medical school, are invited to interview for the competitive Surgical Scholar Program at Northwell Health. Sarah is the clinical gap year scholar for 2021 – 2022.
Sarah joined the Surgical Scholar program after graduating magna cum laude from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Hispanic Studies. As a Surgical Scholar, she is involved in several ongoing clinical research projects led by faculty and residents at Northwell Health. Additionally, Sarah is responsible for developing patient outreach and education materials, as well as assisting with daily administrative duties in the office. She looks forward to applying the lessons in compassionate patient care and research that she has learned from our team to her future career as a physician. Stephanie Hansraj is Dr. Tanna’s account representative and manages billing inquires and the insurance authorization process. She has been in the medical profession for fifteen years and has worked specifically in the plastic surgery field for over a decade. Her focus is in the attention to detail with an emphasis on accurate and timely clearance for patients to move forward with surgery in confidence. Stephanie is committed to assisting patients obtain detailed information through the authorization, claims and appeals processes. It is her intention to provide education and understanding so our patients understand the full scope of what their benefits entail.
